Why We’re Building Omucloud

Pursuit Li
Founder, Omucloud · Director, Opptymizer (SG) Pte. Ltd.
Email has been around for decades, and we believe it will remain one of the most important trust layers on the internet for decades to come.
A company may have a website, a social media account, or a messaging channel. But when it needs a proper digital identity — something that represents the business in a credible and lasting way — email is still one of the most universal forms of identity.
That is why we decided to start Omucloud with something very simple:
free business emails in your domain.
There are two groups we think are still underserved.
The first is the huge number of small businesses that are still not properly digitalized.
A restaurant, a coffee shop, a beauty salon, a small retailer, or a local service business may already have a Facebook page, an Instagram account, or even a basic website.
But many of them still do not have a proper email identity under their own domain.
They may still be using a personal Gmail address.
That, actually, embarrasses the business owner.

Owning a proper email under your domain should mean owning your business identity.
The second group is founders.
In 2026, founders are building and experimenting faster than ever.
It is normal for one person to own 10, twenty, or even thirty domains across different ideas, products, experiments, and side projects.
But if every domain requires another paid Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 account, the cost and operational burden add up very quickly.
We think that is unnecessary.
A new idea should be able to have its own domain and its own professional email identity from day one — without immediately becoming another software subscription.
And when you prove traction and want to set up a company, I am also an advisor of a Hong Kong company service provider — StanComp.com.
Full digital onboarding, no need to meet face to face.

So this is where we are starting.
We could have built another AI email product. But we did not.
First, we want to help more people own their email identity.
More founders.
More small businesses.
More companies that have never had a proper digital identity before.
Once that foundation exists, we can build much more on top of it.
Our long-term vision is still much bigger than free email.
We believe email will evolve from a passive inbox into an intelligent identity - for employee and AIs.
But before building more features, we want to make sure more people can participate in it in the first place.
And if someday your business outgrows Omucloud, I am more than happy to see that.
You can port out to other providers like Google or Exchange any time.
First, give everyone an identity.
Then build the future of the inbox.
